Pena Castle, one of the most colorful in the world



Portuguese National Palace of Pena could be described as one of the most colorful worlds of the fortresses, with walls and domes painted in cheery, yellow and red.Palace in the Bavarian style, dates from the 1840th year, when prince Ferdinand and Goths, hired an architect to design the Prussian royal residence on a prominent hill. From the park at the foot of the palace on a hilltop that visitors can walk or be transported in carriages.Pena's castle was built on a cliff at the top of the hill. From the dense green forest, beneath a blue sky and white clouds painted in yellow, purple and red, adorned with various sculptures, azulenes tiles and decorations from the era, Gothic, Baroque and Romantic, this castle emerges. Pena castle (Castelo da Pena), or Pena Palace (Palácio da Pena) is one of the seven wonders of Portugal. It is the oldest palace of European Romanticism. It is on UNESCO's world cultural heritage.
